In early June, pool rental startup Swimply, announced plans to offer private pickleball court rentals. Swimply has been making headlines since its inception in 2018. The company has been featured on SharkTank, Today, CNN, and more.
As pickleball has evolved, especially over the last 3-5 years, so has pickleball equipment. What used to be a simple, cheap plastic ball and wooden paddle has grown into a market with an expansive range of expensive paddles to choose from.
The three national governing bodies for pickleball in the US, Mexico, and Canada announced the creation of The Pickleball Federation of the Americas (PFA) in April.
According to the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA), National Pickleball Month was established in 2018 to promote pickleball by connecting current players and attracting new ones.
City Pickle will work to set up a pickleball paradise in the middle of one of the most famous cities in the world starting April 7. The venue, located at Wollman Rink, will have 14 full-size pickleball courts, officially making it the largest pickleball installation in the Northeast.
